Marcus Lapthorn writes "Until recently this company ran what is now the 67C. A Barnes Travel mega double decker is seen running into Faringdon in order to start one of the dedicated school bus journeys from the school gates."

Ralph Adams writes  "I saw one trip out of Banbury and a different one arrive in Daventry – both had zero passengers on board!"

Ralph Adams writes "In June the subsidised services 103/108/118  from Oxford had a reduced PVR from 3 to 1 plus 1 trip that appears to work off a school contract. In N&P this week, all 3 routes will be withdrawn in 8 weeks time – mid December. I have seen a very old double deck in service (legal as it has less than 25 trips per week now), so it appears the modern Solos have gone.

In Banbury today, I saw 2779 UE  on the 499 which is a Northamptonshire contract. Again quite an elderly Solo with very few passengers."

Bill J writes to send a very nice picture as shown below. He says "Heyfordian Solo YJ59NNL at The Abingdon Arms in Beckley on 2 November 2016. Following the withdrawal of OCC subsidy, Heyfordian have continued reduced services on routes 108 and 118 on a commercial basis, combining operations with a similarly reduced commercial service on route 103. Only one vehicle is needed during the day; extra morning and evening peak journeys are run by a second."

MX10KNR works the 28c from High Wycombe to Cadmore End on October 27th.

The company operates to Ibstone on a 28 School Service. This is a term time only service.

A surprise addition to the fleet is FJ08URR from GHA Coaches, now defunct, which was sold as a non runner after an accident with Red Rose. It is seen in West Wycombe on November 7th and still proclaims GHA Coaches on its rear end! The picture next to it shows it in its Red Rose days in April 2010.

Celebrating 25 years of service to the Chilterns

As mentioned in the Editorial for this issue of OCBP, Red Rose has upgraded the 275 service from high Wycombe to Oxford. This has one early morning journey to Oxford and the last evening journey from Oxford which works via Stokenchurch. The other journeys operate via Chinnor and the branding clearly shows this difference. The service operates from Monday to Friday and there is no weekend service. Nic Cherry is the regular driver and is very proud of his new charge and provides the pictures below which are supplemented by Gavin Francis.

A lovely picture of the newly acquired bus seen at Tetsworth on the A40 on its first day in service.
The livery is very smart and seems to change the appearance of the ADL E200 body.

The interior and rear views reveal a comfortable looking bus offering a reasonable fare.

To celebrate 25 years of service the company has introduced two new E200s in a celebratory livery with appropriate branding. Nick sent some pictures taken at the recent Amersham event showing the buses which are normally allocated to a route in Milton Keynes.

The date is October 2nd and its Amersham 2016.

Nick sent this trio picture taken on November 5th at the depot.
