On Sunday, 11th April we went to Cobham. This year's spring event celebrated 80 years of Green Line and was, as ever, well attended.

Gavin Francis and myself were able to take one of the new Stagecoach gold Scania/Enviro 400 deckers which had only recently entered service.

I am pleased to share with all readers pictures of the attending buses from our area and other interesting vehicles.

More modern vehicles also added interest and these are just a few of those present.

There were also a number of non bus vehicles present which always adds interest to the event.
I remember riding in one of these 1934 taxis to see the Coronation decorations in 1953.
The Ford Pilot was of special personal interest as my father had one of these cars, LNE778 and the one pictured above,
although presented as a Police Car was from the same era and also registered in Manchester.
Steve Burns brought along his vintage van suitably adorned.

A unique and most interesting opportunity to ride was presented by this old horse bus.

And, if one had a £100 to spend there were some nice models available.

I attach a selection of photographs that, in general, reflect the geographical scope of the Oxford Chilterns Bus Page.

RML2414 is, in my opinion, one of the best examples of its class in preservation and has become a regular feature at various running days in the area.  RT3125, by contrast, loves well out of our area at the East Anglian Transport Museum.

This year represents the 80th anniversary of Green Line and there was a small display of Green Line coaches through the ages at Wisley - this included T504, part of the LBPT's collection - it typifies the vehicle used on the service in the immediate pre and post war period.

From Paul Davis

I managed to get to Wisley/Cobham yesterday.  The weather was mostly kind.

There was so much there I took over 200 shots without duplicating much! It was really hard selecting but here are just 10 shots, of which I hope you can use some.

RML2284 looks very odd without an upper deck.  'RME1' also looks strange, being an RMA with a full size bay inserted.

RM1 and RT1 were alongside each other. As well as RT/RM types, some modern vehicles worked the shuttles.  However, RM1  RML3  and RMC4 on the shuttles were too good to miss for me!

Quite a few older cars and commercial vehicles were there, along with many 'foreign' buses.

The picture shows our gold bus arriving at Cobham with a "police car" in hot pursuit!!!!

From Richard Sharman

Richard Sharman sent come nice and varied pictures he took at Wisley.

As a shot to complete this year's line up. I thought this vintage rear complete with an advert us oldies knew well was a suitable ending.
